We are all so proud to welcome our newly ordained Hazzan Steve in a community celebration! Let's welcome the new week and our New Hazzan together. Join us for Havdalah, special speakers, blessings and a teaching on Tallit and Tzitzit as Chaim Rappaport ties the tzitzit (fringes) on Hazzan Steve's new tallit, and an opportunity to offer mazel tovs and well wishes. International Holocaust Remembrance Day - Wednesday, January 27th
This date was chosen by the UN because it is the day when Russian troops entered the Auschwitz death camp in 1945, liberating those few sick and emaciated Jews who were lucky enough to still be alive. Approximately 1,000,000+ of our co-religionists were murdered in that assembly-line killing factory from late 1942 to early 1945. Additionally, Jews from all over Europe were enslaved there and forced to work in factories and in the killing process.
Kabbalat Shabbat & Tu B'shvat Seder - Friday, January 29th, 7:00 pm
We'll welcome Shabbat and Celebrate the Jewish New Year of the Trees! We'll also offer a special blessing and farewell wishes for Al and Sandy Abrams who are moving to Oregon.
